Toyota has joined other automakers in the race of launching eco-friendly green vehicles in 2010 auto expo. “Through the launch of Prius, Toyota is keen to demonstrate its commitment to offer the latest eco-friendly automotive technology to its customers in India,” said Sandeep Singh, deputy MD, Toyota.

Toyota Prius Hybrid is the third generation in the Prius series and comes with 1.8 litre petrol engine and a battery of 60 kilowatt. The eco-friendly car will have three driving mode — power mode, eco mode and electric vehicle mode (battery). It should be noted that Toyota Prius became the world’s first mass produced hybrid car in 1997. It is, in fact, the world’s most successful hybrid car total sales of nearly 1.5 million units.

Price of Toyota Prius Hybrid in India:
The price of Toyota Prius Hybrid has been kept between Rs 26.5 lakh and Rs 27.8 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The on road and ex-showroom price of the car in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune and other towns of India will be known shortly.
