Mahatma is important to Srikanth because it is his 100th film and director Krishna Vamsi took up the responsibility to give him something different. The intention of the film Mahatma is to remind people about the father of the nation, the awakening of his principles from slumber and finally it ends up showing that Mahatma is a forgone conclusion.

The film is 100th film of actor Srikanth which is based on the present day social and political scenario.

Srikanth plays a charectar of a rowdy called Das who gets attracted to the film industry. And then he gets influenced by the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi.
