The tatkal reservation ticket is availed on internet through the website http://www.irctc.co.in by paying the premium charges on ‘first come first served’ basis.
The bookings are allowed in all classes except First AC and Executive class and the tickets can be booked five days in advance of the date of journey .
Tatkal tickets can only be booked from source station to destination station and from remote station having Tatkal quota to destination with boarding facility from intermediate station.
For some trains/class/locations Tatkal quota may not be available.
The Tatkal charges per passenger is as follows
